Thinking about surprising your girlfriend (or boyfriend, or anybody else) with a romantic trip? Or will you be visiting the Italian island Sardinia soon? Either way, we’ve got some excellent tips to share.
1. Cala Goloritzè
This has to be one of the most beautiful small bays of the whole Mediterranean. Cala Goloritzè can only be reached by sea, unless you want to take the charted downhill path for about an hour. The waters are clear and transparent and are surrounded by beautiful rocks, that have been smoothed by Mother Nature over time. In 1990, it has become the “Natural Monument” of Sardinia.
Castelsardo is a comune in Sardinia, located in the northwest of the island. The location of this old, small town is absolutely stunning, which, in combination with the nearby beaches and medieval architecture, make Castelsardo an ideal destination for any romantic trip. Make sure not to miss the stunning view from the castle, or La Roccia dell’Elefante, a limestone rock with an elephant-like resemblance.
3. La Maddalena
Take a trip to the north of the island, rent a boat, and sail to one of many islands of archipelago La Maddalena. Here, you can experience absolute peace and quite, while enjoying the amazing view of a clear blue sea, white beaches, and even more small islands in the distance. At La Maddalena, the sunset seems to last longer than anywhere else on the world.
4. Capo Spartivento
The most southern tip of the island is called Capo Spartivento. A small sandy road leads to a nearly private beach with a clear blue sea. The other, mostly rocky part of this coastline, which is overlooked by a 140 year-old lighthouse, is perfect for a romantic walk in the evening. Don’t forget to bring a picnic basket, as this will make your day at Capo Spartivento even more romantic!
