one heck of a summer: manchester globe trotter has a spa weekend

The New Hall Hotel and Spa in Birmingham is an exquisite manor, offering modern accommodation, style and a range of facilities and services – ideal for anyone wanting a relaxing and luxurious break – and perfect for someone like me!

First Impressions

Driving towards the venue we were presented with a dramatic, intricately designed building surrounded by a graceful water-lily moat. Lovely.

Checking into our room we were pleasantly surprised with the elegant furnishings (with enough cushions to open a shop). The bed was so comfy, it made it very difficult to leave the confines of the room!

The hotel has 26 acres of private parkland and a variety of walking routes both through the hotel grounds and around the neighbouring villages. To make the most of the facilities, we also enjoyed a game of tennis which would have made Sue Barker proud.

The Brasserie
Dinner time at New Hall Hotel & Spa is held at the Terrace Brasserie which offers a tempting range of home cooked British favourites, modern cosmopolitan dining in a very informal relaxed atmosphere. The service was excellent and the chef even went as far as offering me a bespoke vegetarian dish, off menu – talk about customer service!

The Spa
On treatment day and I was placed in the experienced hands of Holly, my therapist. Any strains I had obtained from yesterday’s tennis game soon melted away. Leaving me incredibly soothed and relaxed, I thought this is exactly what this spa is all about. Afterwards, I had a fitness suite, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi to choose from – what to use first?!

Afternoon Tea
Tired from my exertions, I took residence by the pool complete with Sunday papers until afternoon tea on the lawn with biscuits, freshly baked scones, cakes and finger sandwiches. It was an unforgettable experience.
