spa review: k-west hotel and spa experience
May 26th, 2009
West London’s most rock and roll hotel is also home to one of the most chilled out and indulgent Spas in the capital.
Just on the edge of the congestion charge zone, tucked away on a quiet W12 side street, and almost on the doorstep of the new designer shopping centre Westfield, is the K-West Hotel & Spa.

It’s achingly hip and cool. It makes the perfect destination for a day spa experience or a weekend of pampering and shopping with a place to relax and unwind thrown in!
From the moment you walk through the door, you’ll feel the welcome. The atmosphere is modern and minimal, with a friendly bar and relaxed restaurant area.
Downstairs in The Spa you’ll find a heaven scented haven with fresh fruit and herbal teas and a full complement of treatments for men and women.

The Spa houses a roomy and restful reception area and there are several treatment rooms plus there is a nail bar, two chill out rooms as well as a sauna, steam and hot tub.
As you walk into the Spa reception you will be greated by a friendly team and given your bundle of fluffiness – towels, robes and shoes for the day.

There are a great deal of treatments on offer and many of them are luxurious to the nth degree. I chose the Germaine de Cappucini Oriental Delight massage with a Saffron based cream.
My masseur Tayyaba Sher was very friendly and was happy to tell me about all the treatments on offer. I asked her to let me in on the secret – what are the top three tips were for a good beach body.
Tayyaba recommends;
1. For a slimmer silhouette; the Detox
2. For a radiant complexion; the Pearls of Youth facial
3. Plus of course a pedicure and manicure for that top to toe finesse
The K-West Spa is popular with hotel guests and day trippers. There is an even split of guests which means couples are very welcome. According to my masseur, the top treatments are massages and facials and this is true for both men and women.
So back to my own experience; after the 75 minute massage was finished, all tension in my legs and shoulders was gone and afterwards I had a chill out in the very restful Relaks lounge. I popped into the ultra high temperature sauna and left feeling incredibly refreshed.
It must have been serendipity for as I went to leave, I spotted one of our cabs…
